I saw this on Susan's blog and wanted to do it just for the fun of it!

I bought this hat at a little resale shop in Oberlin called Touched By Grace. They had so many different vintage hats there. As soon as I walked in the door I found about three. I started to looked around and I found about twenty-five or so vintage hats. Of course me being who I am had to try on every one I found! I had so much fun with it. Of course I fell in love with almost every hat there. Some looked better than others, while some were just not good at all. Finally I decided to I wanted to take one home with me. And with the help of Grams and Gramps I narrowed it down to two this one and a straw navy blue and white stripped, with a dark blue eye veil. And as you can see this one really caught my eye and was a must buy! I can't wait to go back and maybe even find another hat to bring home. :-)

BGSU OReg Program

"I don't want to go!" That's all you heard out of my mouth Wednesday morning. The stress was built up so intensely inside me, I was going crazy. I wouldn't get out of bed until I had to and then when I did everything seemed wrong and my actions told you everything about my negative attitude. Finally after about an hour of fighting with myself, and others, we were in the car on our way to BGSU's orientation and registration program.

Taking the turnpike cut our travel time in about half compared to other routes. So, in about an hour and fifteen we reached the college. Trying to keep my feelings to "no shows" and Grams' down to bare minimal excitement, we meandered our way to Lot 7. Finally we arrived at Lot 7 and my first greeting of the day was presented. (Phew. So far so good.) Two of the twenty orientation leaders greeted us with smiles and explained the parking process. Little did I know that this was the beginning of a very long, stressful two days.

We went to one program after another that day. Starting with a welcome program and then the students splitting into small groups while the parents were in a meeting. Gosh I really hated that part! New place. New people. Lots of them too. And I couldn't even be a shadow! Grr. I did get through it though. Barely. By the end of the first day I skipped about three meetings in order to keep my sanity and not snap.

I was so glad to get to the dorm hall. They had prepared Offenhauer Towers for us. (Later I would find that I would be in Offenhauer 9west) I was amazed at the niceness of the rooms. I wasn't too sure of being on a different floor than Grams and Gramps, but it turned out okay. My roommate and I spent time downstairs with some of the various activities going on. I was suprised I had fun playing ping-pong with one of the guys who was also in Offenhauer Towers. So my night was pretty okay.

The Next morning we had a few meetings left and were able to explore the grounds a little before heading home. Boy was I glad to be going home! BGSU was nice and all, but very busy and stressful. I wasn't in a hurry for anything to do with BG. In fact I just wanted to forget about it in hopes of it going away. I knew that wouldn't happen though. *haha*

Acceptance To Bowling Green State University (BGSU)

May 11, 2009. Just a normal, ordinary Monday. Just arrived to Music Studio ready to practice my new learned skills of the guitar. Just an ordinary day. I went to check my email, like I sometimes, did in that class, and found a very important message. It was from BGSU. Oh my! The excitement ran through my veins. Had they accepted my application? Or was it just to notify my that they had received it?

I clicked on the subject. It opened, so . I scrolled down, scanning each word, and..."Congratulations! You have just been admitted to Bowling Green State University." My entire face lite up. Jessica asked what was so exciting and I told her I just got accepted to BGSU. She was happy for me. I was thrilled and texted everyone I could, to tell them of the good news.

I never doubted I would get in, I just wasn't sure of it. The whole college thing has been a huge roller coaster of disaster. And headaches. And tears. But overall, a roller coaster of disaster. Still, I got in!

Military Ball 2009

I'll try not to cry...

The Dress.
I had picked up a homemade, modest dress at Goodwill a couple of years ago. It is gorgeous. A baby blue, square neck line, butterfly sleeves, absolutely modest and gorgeous. It was this year that I decided to wear the dress to Military Ball. I only had to have the top brought in so it fit correctly. Sister Stay was a big help with this. She fixed the sleeves so they were bigger, and set them in, correctly, as well as bringing the top of the dress in for a slightly, for a snugger fit. She did an awesome job. I thank her so much for her fine work.

The Hair.
For the second time in my life, I had my hair done. I wanted an updo that somewhat reflected the medieval theme of my dress. When I walked in I told the girl, doing my hair, that I wanted it completely up with a little poof on top. I also told her that I had a tiara that I wanted worked into it. It was really tricky for her to get all my hair up, for the back is shorter than the sides and front. She managed and did well with it. About halfway through I decided that I wanted a little bit of bang showing, but still completely up. She decided that a side swoop would do the trick. And the side curls added just the right touch. I loved it! The service is great and the people wonderful.

Bringing A Friend.
Everyone kept asking if I had a date to Military Ball. Abe (current boyfriend) wanted to come, but wasn't able to be there. With that small detail, I decided to take Shannon. She had joined Jrotc at the beginning of the year and by second semester decided to complete her English credits, thus dropping Jrotc. She had planned on going to Military Ball, and still wanted to. So, I took her.

Senior Gifts.
It was so totally awesome to walk down the Saber Team Arch of Sabers. I was completely thrilled that it was my turn at last. Mark and I were partnered to walk in together, it was then that I truly saw that he was a gentleman. Most of the pairs had awkwardly turned to face the crowd. Not Mark and I. He gently took my by my right hand (with his right hand) and gracefully guided me around to face the crowd. Gentle. Graceful. Beautiful. As my little bio was read a few chuckles emitted from the audience. Then I eagerly awaited to see what crazy gifts they had come up with, this year.
Triff (Brianna Triffiletti. Triff for sort.) decided to try and make things funny, as well as practical. For example, Kevin plays tennis, so he got three new tennis balls to add to his collection. He's also known as a "ladies man", so he got three Barbies. "Women who'll never leave him." *big chuckle* I could only imagine what they got me.
When it came to me, they gave me two miniature horses, "For my love of animals, especially horses." and a giant bookmark "Because I love to read." I laughed and probably went a little red. I liked it though. Really liked it.

The Dance.
Awesome! I danced mostly line dances, with a few group dances thrown in. It was so much fun. The electric slide, the chacha slide, YMCA. It was totally cool, that is until I got tired. Haha. I watched people dancing a few line dances, I didn't know, trying to pick up on the dance. Smiles. Energy. Fun.

*sighs* I'm going to miss it, but the memories will always be with me.

Prom 2008: The Perfect Dress

Okay, Grams and I have been planning on going dress shopping for almost an entire week. Each time we said we'd go, we forgot. (Epic fail.) We finally got our acts together and went Saturday morning. Yes! I was so excited.

We got there about three minutes before they opened. So we waited. Finally it was time for them to open. :) We went in and found that they were busy with a wedding client, but that was okay. We went straight to work looking at dresses. Grams would ask if I liked this one or that. I'd say yea or nay. I'd also point out the ones I liked.

We found two that I wanted to try on. One was a dark purple, with a modest top (Sleeves! Can you believe it?), the other was a maroon color with spaghetti straps, both very attractive dresses. I walked out with the maroon one on first. They liked the color on me. I loved the train. :) It was big but that wasn't anything we couldn't fix. I then walked out in the purple one. It was slightly tight on me and I didn't really like the fact that I couldn't breath. (A small price for beauty. Lol.) I wasn't sure if there were any others I should try on, so I let the wonderful ladies working there pick out some that they thought might be good for me. One was a light green. It didn't look good color wise, but the style was good. I tried on a green one, which was okay but I didn't really like. I also tried on a black one with a red ribbon going down the side. It looked good. Finally I tried on a jewel toned pink one. I loved the style but wasn't too sure about the color. It was after all, pink. I'm not crazy about pink and I don't usually wear the color very well. I tried it on anyway. Oh my! I fell in love with it. The ladies working with me like it. Grams liked it. The woman fitting her wedding dress and her friend or sister liked it. It was wonderful.

The dress is comprised of this gorgeous pink, very light material that flowed gently to the ground. It has this beautiful rippled twist, that is just below an empire wait line, and spans out towards the sides. I felt so natural in it and everyone could tell. I absolutely loved it! They loved it too! I had found my prom dress!

Acceptance to Otterbein College

Yesterday Grams asked me to go get the mail, for I was the only one with a pair of decent shoes on. I gladly jumped up, braced myself for the cold weather, and ran out to get the mail. As I thumbed through the mail, on the way in, I noticed that there was something for me. I quickly glanced at the senders address. It was from Otterbein College. as I quickly dashed inside from the cold, I tried very gracefully to open my letter. That didn't work as well as I thought it would. Lol. I was too excited to really care, though. I skimmed down to the part that really mattered. (That would totally be the body of the letter.) As I read aloud, I couldn't help but get over joyed by the words that left my mouth.

"We are pleased to inform you that we have accepted your application to Otterbein College."

My heart jumped. A small moment of pure joy had entered my life. I held in my hand a letter of acceptance to a college that I greatly look forward to attending. That small moment was soon replaced by the small fear of the journey to come.

As much as I look forward to attending Otterbein, there's this small fear...of life...that continuously haunts me. I want so many things in life and yet, I have no clue where to start or how to survive in this new "foreign land". Yeah, I know I'll be fine. I know that things will work out. That I have never lost faith in. I guess it's just the adventure of life and the unknown.
